Well today is Hari Raya Haji. I'm in the Starbucks in the Mines Shopping complex in Serdang. This morning i happen to see some cows tied up to a tree near a mosque. They look calm & relaxed although they were about to be sacrificed for the festival. Maybe they have no idea what will happen to them soon or maybe they just accepted their fate. Although I pity them but well...its the law of mother nature. Survival of the fittest. Hopefully when i get back later, i would be witnessing the slaughter of those cows. Because honestly, i wouldn't want to see it. That reminds me of one particular incident when i was young & my grandpa was alive.

I was taken care of my grandpa when i was young as my parents had to work. One day, I went to the back & witnessed my grandpa killing a chicken for dinner later. He slit the throat of the chicken, let it run around until it bleeded to death. It was a little scary having to see it run around trying to stay alive only to die in a pool of blood,with it's eyes opening wide as if it's asking to be saved. That day i reluctantly ate the chicken my grandma later cooked for dinner. It seems cruel that we have to feed on other creatures to live but it's the law of nature. If we don't do it, we will die. So we do it to keep on living.

Now, i do still think about it everytime i take a bite of food but i don't feel as guilty as before. Maybe I've come to accept that it's the law of nature. Survival of the fittest...

Game Preview : Scribblenauts (NDS)

Now I don't own a NDS. But when I saw this game on E3 2009 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), it just blew my mind!. This game really shows the potential of NDS to the max!. The title of this game is...

This game was developed by 5th Cell who also came out with games like Drawn to Life which gave a new way to play the NDS. So what make this game great you ask? Well it says on the box. Write anything to solve everything.

The basic idea of Scribblenauts is to complete puzzles to collect "Starites". Your main character in the game, Maxwell has the power to summon objects that he writes. So the player need to summoning objects by writing the name of the object in the ds & using it to helped solve the puzzle. Since there are tons of words stored in the database of the game, the only limit is the imagination of the player. Take this for example...

You see a Starite (the yellow star) stuck on top of the tree. You can't reach it, so what can you do? You can do the obvious, just write on the nds "Ladder", place the ladder by the tree, climb up the ladder & you get the Starite. But they are also various methods to solve this puzzle. You could well...

1) Write "Chainsaw", equip it to you character, saw down the tree & get the Starite
2) Write "Beaver", place the beaver near the tree, let it make a meal out of the tree & collect the Starite
3) Write "Axe", equip it, chop down the tree & get the Starite

But those are just the methods they showed in the video trailers I saw. Who knows what other ways you can solve it? So like I said earlier, the only limit to the game is the player's imagination. Oh just for you information, the game doesn't allow any words that is vulgar or indecent. So don't think of summoning anything vulgar like *#%^& or @#$%^&. The games not out yet but so far, base on the game trailers, it looks awesome! (^o^)

Twenty One Years Old

So I'm now officially 21 years old. For most people, being 21 is a huge thing. It's the legal age for you to buy alcohol or go to the casino or even get married? [I have no idea bout this one). I don't find it a big deal. I'm not a good drinker & I'm not really fond of drinking. I'm not a gambler. Never really was fond of gambling although almost all my relatives (especially in KL) know how to gamble. And about getting married? Well...I haven't even started looking for a girlfriend, so I'll skip this one. (>.<) Out of curiousity, I googled "being 21 years old" & I got all kinds of links from blogs to forums & even some news. Guess everyone does that when their 21 years old. Haha. I laughed at some of the topics I got from the search. Like "Is a guy being 21 years old and a virgin bad?" or "It sucks not being 21..". But I also got a slice of life from other people's blog about being 21 like "Being 21 Years Old" or "Being 21 Years Old, Happy?".

But one things for sure, I'm still the same guy as I was yesterday. A little wiser? Well maybe. A little older? Yeah I guess. All I wish is I get to live my life to the fullest & have fun at the same time. (^_^) So I'm now 21 years old,what about you?

I'm right now in Metro Point,Kajang, surfing the net. But early in the morning I had a dillema. As I sit here at a table in Starbucks, I wonder if I should have done something. Because right now I'm feeling a little guilty.

I was waiting at the bus stop hoping to catch a bus or a taxi heading to Kajang. As I was waiting, i turned around & noticed a cat resting under a car. I adore cats although I don't have any pets, so I tried calling it to me. The cat noticed me & approached me. That's when I noticed one of his back leg was broken! I could see the bone sticking out of his back leg. I regretted calling it because as it appoached me, it had to cross over a drain. It stayed at the edge of the drain & started meowing at me. It stared at me like it wanted my help.

I was hesitant to help because I have no idea what to do with it. I would have bringed it to the vet if I had any idea where to find one. So I decided to turn my back & look away from it, hoping that it will lose interest in me & walk away. After a while, I looked back & noticed it was gone. I gave a sigh of relieve. But when I looked inside the drain, I saw the cat lying inside it. I'm not sure if it tried to jump to reach me or it wanted to rest down in the drain. Out of guilt, I decided to put my bag down & maybe help the poor cat out of the drain. Fortunately the drain was dry as there was not any water running through it. As I approached him, it suddenly got scared & started running on it's three leg clumsily. I tried to calm him down & approach him but he ran deeper into the drain. I couldn't follow it. I was a little annoyed that it ran away from me as I wanted to help it. So with a little anger in me, I got out of the drain & just continued with my day.

But as I was riding the bus & walking my way to Metro Point, I wondered...Should I have helped the cat? Or maybe I should mind my own business? I really don't know. But there's guilt in me for calling it out to me although it was injured. Hopefully the poor guy would be fine on his own...

I really hope so....(T...T)

A Terrifying Dream

A most terrifying dream,
Once I can't forget.

As my eyes opened,
All I could see was tall grass,
As I ran through them,

As I was running,
I gazed upon the heavens,
under the full moon,

A beautiful night,

a sense of calmness.

I came to a field,
An old playground for children,
Now void of children.

See in the distance,
Houses where people slumber,
till night turns to day.

I head towards it,
Trying to look for something,
to make sense of this.

I leap on a roof,
of a house with a red gate,
with a square window.

I peeked in the house,
Only to find a person,
looking back at me.

The person I see,
Staring at me in horror,
was actually me!

Anime I'm watching now : Umineko no Naku Koro ni & Canaan

For this year, there's quite some cool animes that just came out. Here are two among them that I find interesting & worth checking out.

1) Umineko no Naku Koro ni (When the Seagulls Cry)

First this that got my attention to this anime is the opening theme song & the ending song. The opening theme of the anime is "Katayoku no Tori" (片翼の鳥?, lit. "One-Winged Bird") by Akiko Shikata, and the ending theme is "La Divina Tragedia: Makyoku" (la divina tragedia～魔曲～?, lit. "The Divine Tragedy: Demonic Song") by Jimang. The songs is very intense & fortell the viewer how dark this anime is gonna be as the story continues. The anime quality is pretty nice. The anime is produced by the animation studio Studio Deen who was responsible for animes like Kyo Kara Maoh!, Fate/Stay Night & You're Under Arrest and directed by Chiaki Kon.

Next is the story line. The story is basically about a very powerful & rich family called Ushiromiya who gathered at their father's mansion. While the children are here for a family gathering, the adults in the family are there to discuss about their share of the inheritance they will receive after their father dies in 3 months. Little did they realize they are caught up in a game where everyone's life is at stake. The only way to end it is to find the gold that the golden witch, Beatrice (the lady in the painting above) lend to the Ushiromiya family that made their family rich & powerful. So far i've watched two episodes of the series & as far as I can say, the story has a lot of unexpected turns. (especially in episode 2!) So if you want to know more, try & check this anime out. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. I will be reviewing the first episode really soon. (too many characters to talk about (>.<) )

2)Canaan

The first reason I wanted to watch this because this anime was conceptualized by Type-Moon (who also created Fate/Stay Night, one of my favourite anime & visual novel!) co-founders Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi, based on the scenario that they created for the Nintendo Wii visual novel 428: Fūsasareta Shibuya de, which is noted for being one of the few games to be have been awarded a perfect score by games publication Famitsu. Hard to imagine a visual novel getting a perfect score right? (>.<)

As for the opening theme song, its quite catchy. The song is called "Mind as Judgment" by Faylan. The ending song is also quite nice to hear which is titled "My Heaven" by Annabel. Another reason i'm watching this anime because the main heroine looks a little like Saber from Fate/Stay Night but with a different attitude.

~ Saber? Wait...your not Saber!*get a bullet in the head & falls dead* ~

For the story line, there's a lot they haven't really explained. As far as I can tell, some of the individuals in this series has the power know as Synesthesist, the power to use their five senses (Vision, Taste, Hearing, Touch, Smell) all at once. Imagine being able to taste sound or see smell? Like at one scene, Canaan used her power os a Synesthesist to sort of see her opponents just by the sound of their gun & see the heat coming out of their body. There 's also a few organizations at work in this series. Not sure exactly what are they but the only one i know is the Snakes who are leaded by Alphard (picture below), another lead heroin who sees to have a connection with Canaan.

There is also talk about a virus called the Ua (flower in Swahili) virus which is a deadly bioweapon used by an armed organization from the Middle East in Shibuya 2 years ago in the anime. According to most, the rate of death of the virus is 100% but a character in the anime, Maria Oosawa survived with the help of her father's anti Ua virus that his pharmaceutical research lab came out with. There is also a group of people who seem to have undergone some experimental procedure which causes their body to have a birthmark shaped like a flower on their body

These individuals seems to have enhanced physical abilities like super human reflexes & agility. Thou they are some who died after being exposed to the sun although they have the mark. Not really sure how they died. I have a feeling it must be related to the Ua virus. Maybe a modified version of the Ua virus? What I'm watching/playing now?

Right now Im doing my intership. Just a month has passed & I'm starting to get use to it. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't watch anime or play games. Here is the games I'm playing now & the anime I'm watching now.

GAMES

1) The Sims 3

The Sims 3 hasn't really changed a lot from the previous Sims 2 but the awesome thing bout it is the trait system which was implemented in The Sims 3. You can create a Sim with a combination of traits like Family-Oriented, Great-Kisser(for that WoHoo goodness!!!) & even Genius. Those are the positive traits but you can also put negative traits like Evil,Insane,Loner & Clumsy. Now why would you want to give negative traits to your Sims? Well it's probably just to make your Sims miserable or just make other Sim's life a living hell! Here's a few interesting pictures to share with you guys.

~Notice the strange pink colour trees? Those are money trees or Simoleon trees (Simoleon=currency in Sims). Now who said money can't grow on trees?~

~Notice the guy at the right? Well as you can see....he's a ghost. He sort of died at my Sim's house during one of my Sims daughter's birthday, Sarah. So I guess he's currently haunting my house. Not to bad for a ghost & quite a good chess player too!~

~Notice the girl at the far left? She's a Sim I created who is blue skin. Right now she's playing the guitar for tips hoping to be as aspiring musician someday! Once she's achieved that, I will create the perfect soulmate for her who will be...not blue but green! Why green you ask? Just wanna see what children they might have ;) ~

~Here is my blue skin Sims trying to gain the knowledge of music by reading a book at the cemetery. Here you can see a whole bunch of Sim's ghost wandering around the cemetary. Once you get to know them, they're ok I guess (^_^) ~

*I'm also playing a bunch of Nintendo Dual Screen(nds) games but I'll probably talk about that later.

ANIME

Right now I'm trying to follow two new animes which are just released called Canaan & another called When Seagulls Cry (Umineko no Naku Koro ni). I just watched the 1st episode of the two. So far I'm impressed by the animation quality. The reason I'm watching Canaan because the concept of this anime is by Type-Moon who also did Fate/Stay Night, one of my favourite anime. As for the other I heard it was based on a visual novel game by 07th Expansion that was really popular with the same title. I had a chance to play the visual novel of Fate/Stay Night but not the other.

Next time I will review on the first episode of Canaan & When Seagulls Cry. So stay tune guys! Haha (^_^)

1. Gendou's Anime Music
Got an anime song your just dying to get? Well this is the place to get it! They got tons of songs of old & new anime. One thing thou...the site doesn't allow download managers. So if you want to download a song, just use the normal download provided by your internet browser.

2.Bleach Exile
Here's a site dedicated to Bleach but they also have other animes available. One I frequently visit. All you have to do is register & you can download right away. Plus they also have quite a list of mangas available.

4. Fan Sub TV
If you ever want to know what the latest anime out there, you can check this site! They provide tons of info about anime & has a lot of loyal fans.

7. Stop Tazmo
Here's another great site for mangas. It's updated frequently.

8. One Manga
Now this site is the motherlode of mangas. They have a long list of mangas & the list just keeps going on!

9.Game Trailers
Once of the best sites for anything game related. I frequently visit to view the latest game videos & catchup on a show called The Angry Video Game Nerd(http://www.gametrailers.com/screwattack). Check out this years E3(Electronic Entertainment Expo) videos. They got some awesome games coming out plus cool gadgets!

10. Mirror Moon
If your a fan of Fate/Stay Night. Then just check out this site. They are dedicated to the company Type/Moon who made the Fate/Stay Night game & other visual novel games. If your a fan of the anime, you might want to try the game but BE WARNED, the game contains adult content.
